Here you have the places that we will visit:

Day 1:

Granada

As the ancient capital of the Kingdom of Granada, nowadays this city still preserves the typical architecture from the Muslim kingdoms. The current architecture of the city still shows the ancient relationship between Christians, Muslims and Jewish people in Granada, until the Catholic kings reconquered the city.

Here you have photos with some of the most important attractions from Granada:

To know more about this city, we are visiting some of the most important points:

Quarter Albaicin is an ancient Arab and Moorish quarter. It is a picturesque maze of cobbled streets and whitewashed houses. Its location is on a hill among baroque churches, Renaissance palaces and Arab minarets. Apart from that, its streets form also a huge market where you can buy souvenirs for your friends and family.

Basílica de San Juan de Dios

A stunning baroque cathedral that lays on our way through the city.

Catedral de Granada and royal chapel (5€)

This cathedral is a masterpiece of the Spanish Renaissance style and contains the tombs of the Catholic kings, who were crucial in Spanish history and also in world history, being the kings that paid for the first expedition of Christopher Colombus.

The Alhambra and Generalife

These are the two most visited monuments of Spain and belong to the world’s top attractions. The fortress with its gardens is an extra ordinary example for Arab art. This set of palaces is located in one of the highest hills of the city. According to historians, in Roman times there was a military fort used to defend the city from the enemies. However, this location wasn't selected only for defensive purposes, it was also a way of showing the power of the city, being located above the rest of buildings In 1238 Alhambra becomes for the first time a royal residence, being the residence of the Muslim king Muhammad ibn Nasr.

(General Entry: 14€)

Carrera del Darro

Is a nice walkway next to the river. We will pass nice restaurants and usually there are many musicians.

Mirador de San Nicolas

On our city tour though Granada we are going to walk up from Plaza Nueva through the Albaicín to find a nice spot on the wall. From there we will have a nice overview over the Alhambra palace, the Sierra Nevada Mountains and on the city below. There we will be able to enjoy the Andalucian sun. After his visit to this wonderful place, the ex-president of the United States, Bill Clinton, rated the sunset in Granada as "the most beautiful of the world".

Day 2:

Cordoba

We will make our second stop of the trip in Córdoba. the capital of the province of Córdoba. It was a Roman settlement, then colonized by Muslim armies in the eighth century. It became the capital of the Islamic Emirate, and then of the Caliphate of Córdoba, including most of the Iberian Peninsula. Córdoba consisted of hundreds of workshops that created goods such as silk. It was a center of culture and learning in the Muslim golden age. Córdoba has the highest summer temperatures in Spain and Europe.

Day 3:

Sevilla

Finally, we arrive to Sevilla, capital of Andalucía and the location where all the culture of this wonderful land binds. Known as Híspalis during the Roman Age, the history of this city is reflected on its Old Town, its streets and its monuments. The waters of River Guadalquivir bathe both sides of the city and draw a beautiful landscape during the sunset.

Catedral de Sevilla y la Giralda

La Catedral de Sevilla, declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1987 is the third biggest cathedral of the world and one of the most beautiful of the planet. It's worldwide known, for its bell tower, commonly known as La Giralda. In this tower you can notice how the two thirds of the towers below correspond to the ancient mosque and how the top part of the tower corresponds to the gothic christian art. (General Entry: 9€)

Real Alcázar de Sevilla

This set of palaces is surrounded by a defensive wall and it's characterized by its mixture of mudejar, baroque, gothic and renaissance styles. Those Palaces have been used during decades as a residence for kings. In fact, Alcázar de Sevilla is the oldest royal residence that still works in Europe. You also need to know that inside this palace some scenes of Game of Thrones were filmed.(Entry: 9,50€)

Plaza de España

Without any doubt, it is one of the most beautiful buildings in Sevilla. Constructed during the Renaissance, this square is crossed by a channel, which at the same time is crossed by four bridges. It's an ideal place to relax and enjoy the Sevillian vibe. If the place results familiar to you, it´s because some scenes of Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones were filmed in its surroundings.

Torre del Oro

Located in River Guadalquivir and near the bullring of La Maestranza, this almohade tower was linked to Torre de la Plata by a wall. During years a false legend said that the name of the tower because the gold taken from America was stored in the tower. However, the origin of the name is due to the reflect of the tower in the water of the river. (Entry 1,50€).
